WALL 2012 Loïsium Südsteiermark Ehrenhausen AT
Gaïa Styria, 2012, site specific drawing, paint marker on wall, variable dimension, Loisium Ehrenhausen.

The typographical and scenic characteristics of southern Styria flow into Laurent Ajina's monumental wall drawing for the Loisium Ehrenhausen. Here, too, he confronts his personal memory with the impressions of a new place, creating a space that combines architectural features and subjective perceptions.
Swiss curator Reto Thüring describes Laurent Ajina's work as both versatile and coherent, which can be read as an exercise in remembering. "The repeated assembly of remembered building blocks finds a visual, even physical, realization in the drawing of the line. For the viewer, in turn, Ajina's own memory is reproduced by following the same line.
