Iron curtain part#2 (2017) Cardboard in Trausdorf, AT
Traveling Cardboard photographed by Laurent Ajina in Trausdorf an der Wulka

Burgenland is an Austrian region bordering Hungary, fifty kilometers from Vienna. On May 2, 1989, Hungarian border guards cut through the barbed wire separating the communist country from Austria. This was the first breach through which thousands of East Germans would rush a few months before the fall of the Berlin Wall.

From 2016 to 2018, I created installations of cardboard drawings entitled Iron Curtain on the outskirts of three villages near the border, in this no man's land crossed by individual despair and collective hope.
